13 YA Books I Love
I know I’m almost fifty years old, but I still enjoy reading Young Adult novels. In fact, I just read an ARC for Dark Mirror by MJ Putney (MaryJo Putney is one of my fave historical romance writers, and she’s writing YA as MJ Putney) and I loved it. My Thursday 13 is a list of some of my favorite YA novels, some old and some new.
1.
Beauty by Robin McKinley. IMO the best Beauty and the Beast retelling written.
2.
The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley.
3. Lark by Sally Watson.
4. The Hornet’s Nest by Sally Watson
5.
The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause
6.
Cat in the Mirror by Mary Stolz
7.
Trickster’s Choice by Tamora Pierce
8.
Moccassin Trail by Eloise Jarvis McGraw
9. The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis
10.
The Egypt Game by Zilpha Keatley Snyder
11. Terrier by Tamora Pierce
13.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Do you still read Young Adult books? Which are your favorites?

How bad am I when I only know one book on the list…. I read YA books….I’m currently starting Fallen by Thomas Sniegoski
Wow! These look good. I need to quit my day job so I have more time to read.
I usually read them if my daughter reads something she thinks I might like. Last one was Wintergirls.
Happy T13!
I’m finding I read more YA than adult romance now! LOL! We’re reading Twilight now!
*hugs*

My son created a library for the youth of our church and several of these titles he selected for the shelves. I’ll have to check them out.
Happy TT.
I confess, of this list, I’ve only read Twilight (no comment). I need to add them to my TBR pile, though – I always loved YA and even children’s books. I’m not an expert, but I know some of them still speak to me as an adult, and I think that means something good.
I’ve only read numbers 9 (been a long time, though) and 13 (entire series). One of my absolute favorites not mentioned by you, though you listed the author twice, is Witch of the Glens. I also liked The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins.
I keep forgetting the Twilight is YA.
Twilight is the only book I know on this list too. I have read a few YA books though since a couple of my friends write them.
I am not in the Twilight camp, but I see that a lot of others are. Have you read Feed by M.T. Anderson? That’s a sci fi type one that I enjoyed much more than Twilight!
I read “Stone Heart” to the kids. Talk about an AWESOME
I’ve only read one of those. So long ago that I don’t even remember the first time I read it. The Blue Sword. I was big into fantasy and sci-fi in my teens and 20s. I still have that book and the other one, The Hero and The Crown. Just reread them a few months ago in fact.
Anything by Madeleine L’Engle, and Harry Potter. Awesome.
Happy TT!
