Tuesday Truth 6/12/18: RAGT Rocked!

I arrived home from Lori Foster’s Anual Reader & Author Get Together last night. What a great time I had! As usual I didn’t take many pictures. Grrr. You can see some of the fun on the RAGT Facebook page here.

I got to see some of my favorite people like Paige Tyler. She is always kind enough to invite me to sit at her table for meals. Wendi Zwaduk, Cheryl Dragon and others allowed me to be part of their Sparkling Authors scavenger hunt, which was a ton of fun. I saw some wonderful friends again this year like Samantha H, Vanessa C, Jennifer K, Janet R and more. I went to a mini workshop on how to create Tea Favors (I love tea!) which was led by historical romance author Heather McCollum. She had a very full class. I sat on the floor with a few new friends and had a ball. I got to meet author Becca Jameson at last, and my table mate for the signing was none other than Stephanie Burke. I’ve had a bit of an author crush on her since around 2008. She had a few copies of her most recent book, a collections of novellas about “How not to Date…” an alien, a fae, a vampire, a werebear, etc. They all sound cute and fun and hot. Sadly, she sold out before I could get one. Luckily, there is Amazon for that! While I was setting up my table, author D. Renee Bagby came over to help me and gave me some great pointers on setting up. The best thing about RAGT are the people. I only wish I would have had more time to visit with everyone.

If you ever have a chance to go to RAGT, I highly recommend it! Great people, fun parties, time to hang around and chat with great people, all at an unbelievably low price. $50 for the entrance fee gives you all your meals paid, a free t-shirt, a $10 B&N gift card and a goody bag stuffed with books and swag!

Speaking of swag, I collected some extra and thought I’d share with one lucky reader. Below is a pic of some of what I will be sending out. There will be three of my books in paperback, and some others, plus swag from my stash and from some other authors. Good stuff!

Would you like to enter to win? I will be sending out the entry instructions in my next newsletter, which will come out Thursday night. I am doing away with my old newsletter since it is not GDPR compliant. That means anyone who signs up must check a box to tell me that I have permission (marketing permissions) to send them newsletters.  If you’d like to sign up for my new newsletter you can find it HERE

Now it is time for me to relax and read. Ocean Light by Nalini Singh came out today and I DYING to start it! I hope you all have something wonderful to read too. Next Tuesday we get more of Cole and Gina. Until then, Happy Reading!

Are You Ready for a Holiday Giveaway?

This is my favorite time of the year! Snow! (Hopefully. For the last two years we’ve had a brown Christmas, but maybe this year we’ll have snow) Christmas music! Lights on the trees, cookies in the oven, and presents!

Speaking of presents, it’s almost time for me to send out my newsletter for my December giveaway! I have two packages to go out. Each one has a calendar, a paperback book, a pair of earrings, a magnet and a few other swag goodies. If you would like to win the items below, just enter using the entry form that will come in my newsletter. That newsletter will go out tomorrow night and the drawing will be held on Saturday evening. If you don’t get my newsletter, there is a sign up on the right.

Good Luck, Everyone!

Giveaways, Writing, Knitting

In other words, an update! I suppose I could break this up into a couple of different blogposts, but it’s summertime and everyone is busy, so I’ll try to keep this short and sweet.

July giveawayI’m continuing my monthly giveaways.  I really enjoy sending out boxes of goodies. These giveaways are open to those who receive my newsletter. Sometimes they are “grab bag” giveaways, where people enter to win a prize sight unseen. Sometimes it’s a specific prize or set of prizes. Last month’s giveaway was a grab bag. The lucky winner was Nichole from Michigan and this is what was inside her box: 2 full size paperbacks, a couple of short stories, earrings and a pearl ring, magnets, bookmarks, pens, and other swag from writers.

I have August’s giveaway ready to go. It will also be a grab bag, but one thing I knowAugust Giveaway shawl will be in it: This hand knit shawl/scarf. I’ve been working on it all summer, and now it is finished and ready to go around someone’s neck just in time for the cooler mornings ahead. See? My cat Merry stood guard over it while it dried.  If you would like a chance to win this shawl plus other great prizes, you can sign up for my newsletter.

I am currently working on my contemporary novella for Paige Tyler’s Dallas Fire & Rescue Kindle World. I am LOVING Dusty and Isabel! It comes out in mid October. Isabel owns a yarn shop with her sister, and the shop colors are fuchsia and black. Dusty, in a desperate attempt to catch Isabel’s attention, recklessly signs up for her Learn To Knit class.  In hatthe first class the students learn to knit a dishcloth. Dusty swaggers in to class, confident that he can master knitting without any trouble. He slinks out, convinced that knitting was invented by demons out to drive humans crazy. In the second class, he knits this hat. I am considering writing the pattern up and including it at the end of the book. I’m not sure about that, though.

Do you think it would be appreciated by readers? Would most readers even care? Maybe it would be better to include a link to my website where I could post the pattern?

What are your thoughts about that? Please leave a comment, I would really like to know.

I hope your summer is going well. Only a few weeks until the kids are back in school. I come from a large family, and on the first day of school, my mom put out the flag. She said it should be a national holiday!  LOL

Happy Reading!

Do You Want To Win?

I’m doing a Mystery Giveaway from my Newsletter this weekend!

I’m one of those people who just can’t resist a grab bag. You know, those plain paper bags that a store has stuffed with merchandise that hasn’t sold. You never know what you’ll get! My local needlework store does that. They put in patterns, a pack of needles that someone opened and stole one of the needles from, a few skeins of floss, etc, and sell the whole thing for a dollar. Most of it is crap, but it’s so much fun to open the bag and see what’s in it.

I promise this giveaway isn’t a bunch of crap! I put several items into this bubble envelope and will mail it to the winner on Monday after work.  What’s in it? A grab bag is supposed to be secret, but I’ll give you some hints. There are 2 paranormal romance paperback books in it, one by me, and one by a writer I admire. There is a small knitted item (knitted by moi), a piece of jewelry, some magnets, and a bunch of swag.

The newsletter will go out tomorrow (Friday) so if you haven’t signed up for my newsletter, you still have time! The sign up is over there on the right on side. I will mail the package to anywhere in the world, so if you live across the pond or down under, you can have this lovely assortment of goodies.

Good luck!

CONTEST! Win a Paperback Book!

Tales-front-coverYou know I just love to do these little impromptu contests. I just happen to have an extra copy of Tales of the Wolf Clan on hand. This is the paperback version of both Wolf’s Oath and Sherry’s Wolf in one volume. To celebrate the website being back up, I am going to give the extra copy to one lucky commenter. Yep, just leave a comment below before 6pm Central Time on Sunday, October 25. That’s the same time zone as Chicago IL USA or Mexico City, Mexico. I’ll mail the book Monday night to the winner. The contest is open world wide. If the winner lives in Australia or Africa it may take a little longer to get there, but it will get there eventually. 🙂

So leave a comment on this post and I’ll draw a name on Sunday around 7pm. I’ll email the winner and post here.

Good luck!

Winner!

The winner of the $10.00 Amazon Gift Card is

CENDI

Congrats, Cendi!

Thank you all so much for your helpful comments and suggestions. I am going to read every comment and make notes, and then try to put together a cover for the story. I think I’m going to go with   OLIVIA’S MATE Daughters of the Wolf Clan 1.  I’m not sure when, but I will write Victoria’s story. She’s a lot like her mom, and I loved writing Glory. 🙂

Tuesday Truth 9/1/15: Enter To Win an Amazon Gift Card!

Tomorrow there will be a teaser  from Kit’s Point of View. But for today, I think it’s time I settled on a title for Kit and Olivia. I am not a graphic artist, and just trying to make a cover brings me to tears of frustration. But I’ve slapped together 3 mock ups of a cover for this story, with the three titles. These are only mock ups and I’ll fine tune whichever one we settle on. This will be a freebie available through Wattpad and here on my website. I want it to be as good as it can be, but I am really just an amateur.  I don’t want to spend money for a freebie because I’m cheap like that 🙂

Anyway, leave a comment below to vote for which cover is your favorite and why, and on Friday September 4th I will draw a name to win a $10.00 Amazon gift card. The drawing will be at 6:00pm central daylight time and I will email the winner to let them know they have $10 (or the equivalent thereof in the currency of their country) to spend. Labor Day weekend + book money = Happy Reader!

Oh, and just so you know, if none of these titles and/or covers appeals to you, feel free to nominate something else.

               Good Luck!
