I am Back! With a New Book and a Give Away!

It’s been quite a while since I posted. Let’s get the health stuff out of the way first. My cancer is doing well. A quick recap: I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer in July 2020. I did chemo and radiation and had surgery and I was cancer-free for a little over a year. It came back and spread to my liver in 2023. So that means it is now stage 4. We did a procedure to get rid of that, and that worked. But then in 2024 it spread to one lung. We did radiation, which was good. Then it spread to both lungs and we did chemo. It grew more and I had radiation in August. It appears to have been pretty successful. I saw my oncologist last week and he doesn’t see any new spots and the ones I had were either the same size or maybe a bit smaller. I did have a fairly common side effect from the radiation called Radiation Pneumonitis that lasted most of October into the end of November. That was nasty, but I am feeling better now. So, now that that is out of the way, let’s talk books!

My next book comes out January 2, 2026!

I have been working on a new series called The Lords of Erabir. It is a fantasy romance rather than a paranormal romance. The first book is The Storm King. Erabir is a preindustrial fantasy world ruled by warrior lords. The first book is called The Storm King. The hero is not like my wolf warriors, who, although they can be tough, are complete gooey marshmallows when it comes to their mates. Jerriel is a harder man, raised without love or affection. As a teen, he was captured by his enemies, the Imperial colony of New Thess, and made a lowly slave. The only kindness he ever had was from the daughter of the governor of New Thess. Still only teenagers, they fell in love, and she helped him to escape back to his own people. She gave him a necklace to remember her by. He promised to return one day with his army, destroy the Imperial colony, and bring her home to Erabir as his bride.

Or that was the story the heroine, Ashley Johnson, wrote when she was teenager fighting Leukemia. She made up an entire world with dashing warrior princes who fell in love with sick girls and protected them with devoted tenderness. But she never finished the story. Ten years later, she is an older than average college student about to earn her degree when she pauses on the way to her last final exam to toss some coins in a campus fountain for good luck. Somehow she is planged from her college campus to the colony of New Thess, which is besieged by the Erabiri army. But this isn’t the world she created. And the warrior in command of the Erabiri army is not the dashing, tender lover she invented. Can she ever return home? Or will she have to build a life in a make-believe world with a man who is about as tenderly devoted as a sword blade?

And my last bit of news is that I am once again doing my Annual Christmas Stocking GiveAway! There will be some of my books, a calendar, a coffee mug with hot chocolate, tea, and coffee, some chocolates, a nap quilt made by yours truly, and a $25.00 Amazon Gift Card. I think of it as a Reader’s Perfect Evening basket. Curl up under a quilt with a good book and a delightful hot drink and some chocolate. That’s my idea of a perfect evening! I will be putting out a newsletter with directions for entering on Friday, December 5. Random . org will draw a winner on the evening of Monday December 8.

Until next time, Happy Reading!
