Merry Christmas!

Wishing everyone a Good Christmas!

This time of the year can be hard, can’t it? The world around us says we should be merry and bright. But what if you are not? What if the holiday reminds us of a loved one that passed away? It hurts that you couldn’t buy them a present or see them at the table. Maybe there was a divorce and family split, so now you are alone. There are many reasons you might not be singing carols and unwrapping presents with family and friends today. You are allowed to grieve. Your feelings are real and valid. Just remember the Reason for the Season. That sounds trite, but it is still true. Man created Christmas and all its hype and traditions, but the basis for Christmas is that Jesus was born. God in flesh, born so that he could die and pay for the sins of the world so that we don’t have to wallow in hopeless grief alone.

OK, done preaching now 🙂 I hope that all, even those of us who are alone or grieving, can find some peace, joy, and love today.
