Tales of the Wolf Clan Paperback
I have two of my books (Sleeping With the Wolf and Wolf’s Glory) out in paperback and I am attempting to put the rest out too. In fact, Tales of the Wolf Clan is available now from Create Space, and it should be up on Amazon and Barnes & Noble in a week or so. This is Wolf’s Oath and Sherry’s Wolf together in one volume. Interior layout and formatting was done by Nadia Lee in exchange for a beta read of Forever in Love. (I loved that book. Had to go get the rest. If you enjoy contemporary romance in the world of the rich and the famous you might want to try Vengeful in Love, the first book in the series. It’s free on Amazon!)
I did the cover art for this one myself, using images purchased from Fotolia for the background, and the CreateSpace template for the title/spine and back matter. It’s not perfect, but considering how badly I suck at figuring out graphic art programs, I’m pretty darned proud of it.

Wolf’s Vengeance Cover Reveal!
It’s here! I can now show off the cover of Mel and Snake’s story, which releases from Liquid Silver Books on Monday May 26. See? What do you think? Isn’t it beautiful?
Mel is one of my favorite heroines. She’s tough, but there is grief and trouble behind her calm, stoic face. It takes a guy like Snake to break through the hard crust to the tenderness she guards deep inside.
This is another of Lyn Taylor’s covers. She does such amazing work. I haven’t seen a single cover by Lyn that isn’t beautiful.
Interview With Robyn Bachar
Paranormal romance author Robyn Bachar invited me to be a guest on her blog today. I met Robyn at Lori Foster’s Annual Reader & Author Get Together a few years ago. She is a ton of fun to be around, and I LOVE her Cy’ren books. If you’d like to try her out, I suggest starting with Nightfall.
Robyn asked me about where I came up with the After the Crash world and the stories that take place there. What to know more? Here is the interview on Robyn’s blog.

I write paranormal romance with a twist. Like time travel to a post apocalyptic future where women are rare. A plane takes off in 2014 and crashes in 2064, and the survivors learn that terrorists destroyed the world they knew. Due to disease released by the terrorists, women are few. And werewolves really do exist and they want mates to cherish.
I’m writing this blog post on the evening of Thursday April 3. You might think that means warm spring weather. Not in North Dakota. We had a blizzard a few days ago and right now heavy wet snow is falling. It’s no very cold out, but it’s the kind of wet cold that seeps in your bones. It reminds me of a a scene in my upcoming release Wolf’s Vengeance. The hero, Snake Wolfe, is a wolf shifter, and his mate, Melissa, had gotten drenched in a cold rain while they were travelling with her brother. Snake wrapped her up in blankets and curled up in wolf form next to her to keep her warm. Here is a sneak peek at their first love scene.
Mel woke hours later from a sound sleep to find a warm furry body pinning her under the blanket. Her heart leaped into her throat and pounded there for a minute before she realized it must be Snake. She lifted a bleary head to try to see him better. It was too dark to see anything but the unearthly shimmer of wolf eyes, but she knew it was Snake.
“Oh, Snake, you scared me for a minute.”
The wolf swiped a wet warm tongue over her cheek.
“Eeww,” she groaned, wiping the slobber away. But she laid her head down and went back to sleep, leaning into the comfortably warm bulk of a wolf.
She woke next when dawn was only a promise in the east, barely seen through the open barn door. Her mouth opened in a wide yawn as she pressed closer to the wolf’s warmth. The feel of smooth warm skin instead of rough fur against her cheek shot her eyes wide open.
“Snake?”
“Mmm,” he hummed, burrowing his nose into her throat.
She wrestled a hand from under the blanket to touch his hair. His braids were thicker and longer than her stubby one. She ran her hand down the length of his braid until her fingers smoothed over his bare spine. “Are you wearing clothes?” she demanded with a gulp.
“Nuh-uh,” he murmured. “Just made the change a couple of minutes ago. Haven’t had time to dress yet.” His mouth touched her throat, glided up to the corner of her jaw, over her cheek to her lips, where he teased her with small, light kisses.
Mel froze, breath trapped in her throat for a long icy moment before she realized how nice it felt. His weight felt good too when he moved his body over hers. But she was horribly aware that she was naked under the blankets except for her panties, and she could feel his erection pressing against the top of her thigh. “We’re in the open,” she protested in a whisper. “Someone could see us.”
“Nobody can see us. Mike’s snoring by the barn door and Stone is running a perimeter patrol. It’s just us, Mel.”
“I don’t want to have sex here,” she hissed.
“We won’t.”
“But, you’re …I mean, you…” She trailed off, angry at herself for being so prudish. “You’re … uh… hard,” she finished.
“Yeah. Just ignore that. It happens when I’m this close to you, but we don’t have to do anything about it.”
They didn’t? “Won’t that hurt you?”
She felt his shrug. “I’ll survive. This isn’t the right time or place. We’re in the open, remember?”
His heat was irresistible. She wrapped her hands around his braids and tugged him down to her mouth. “Kiss me, Snake.”
His lips were amazingly soft for a moment, then hard and demanding on hers. She savored the feel of his mouth before Snake buried his face against her neck. “Oh,” he groaned. “I’ve wanted to do that forever.”
“We haven’t known each other that long.”
“I wanted to do that before I ever saw you. And since I’ve met you I’ve wanted to do it twice as much.”
His chin had no stubble. She brushed exploring fingers over it. “Then keep doing it.”
Do you think having your cheek licked by a werewolf is sexy or disgusting? Leave a comment and let me know. On Sunday I will choose a commenter to receive a $15.00 gift card to Amazon. Have fun on the hop and good luck!

Free Books for the National Reading Month!
Did you know that March is National Reading Month in the US? I learned to love reading when I was a child yearning for adventure. Nothing very adventurous happened to me in real life, but when I opened a book I could be anywhere or anything in the world, or out of this world.
So I don’t need much of an excuse to read a book, and I’m happy to do my civic duty to promote reading. I’m doing my part by setting my two self published book to FREE at Smashwords. Wolf’s Oath and Sherry’s Wolf are free until March 31. Read Wolf’s Oath first. Events in that book have a bearing on Sherry’s Wolf. I don’t believe you have to read the first three books in the series to be able to enjoy these. So click on the links below to download a book and spend an afternoon buried in another world.

Readers Anonymous
My name is Maddy and I’m a reader.
OK, that is supposed to be funny. I do not think reading is an addiction, at least not like alcohol, eating or gambling is. The huge majority of readers don’t go into debt to feed their habit, right? Okay, maybe I sometimes spend more than I actually budgeted for on books. And sometimes I read when I REALLY ought to be cleaning or sleeping, but I hardly ever call in sick to work because of it. Reading is actually beneficial for you. This study shows that reading fiction is good for your brain. So my brain must be very healthy! How about yours?
Here’s what I’ve been reading, with links to the books on Amazon so you can learn more about them:
Valiant by Laurann Dohner-This was a re-read. In my opinion, the best of the series about human/animal hybrids and the women they love. Sometimes a re-read is like seeing an old friend. What books do you like to read over?
Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop This is the 2nd book in Bishop’s Others series. Unique world building, excellent characters. A thousand books are about vampires and werewolves, but none do it this way! Start with the first book, Written in Red. I love this author because her stories are unique.
The Sylph Hunter by LJ McDonald I’ve been waiting for Ms. McDonald to continue her fantasy romance series and was thrilled to see this one had come out. If you haven’t read them, I suggest starting with the first book, The Battle Sylph
Hunter’s Claim by SE Smith This is the first in Ms. Smith’s new series. If you enjoy sci fi romances where Earth women are claimed by handsome aliens who fall in love with their mates, I think you’ll enjoy this one.
Eight Million Gods by Wen Spencer Another brilliant fantasy novel. If you enjoy manga and anime you might like this one too. I have gobbled up everything thi author has written. Her Ukiah Oregon series is an absolute fave of mine, and I loved Tinker too. If you haven’t read Ms. Spencer before, Tinker is a great place for a romance lover to start. A brilliant tomboy catches the eye of a handsome elf lord. This is a very simplistic description of this book. I loved it.
So what have you been reading? Tell me about it. I’m always looking for something new and fun to read.

Whatcha Readin’?
So, what has everyone been reading lately? I go through spurts where all I want to do is read. Dishes pile up, the laundry baskets overflow, and cat hair multiplies and settles on everything. I just sit in my chair with my favorite beverage on hand and read. There was a time when 10-12 books a week was the norm for me. Sadly, I have job now. My idea of the perfect =vacation is lots of time to do nothing but read. Do you ever do that?
I do manage to squeeze some reading time in. Here are some of the books I’ve read lately:
1. Entreat Me by Grace Draven This retelling of Beauty and the Beast is highly original, with excellent writing and fascinating characters. I loved it.
2. Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews A wonderful fantasy story by a favorite (pair of) author(s). I will read anything by Ilona Andrews, and like. This one was a lot of fun.
3. I’ve been reading all of Ellen O’Connell’s backlist. She writes stirring American West romance. I haven’t loved all of them the same, but they’re all well written. My favorite is probably Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold, although Beautiful Bad Man and Dancing on Coals were excellent as well. I just finished Into the Light, which I loved. Now I’ve finished all her romances and I’m walking around in circles, wanting another one. Sigh.
So what have you been reading? I have to put a hold on more reading for a while. I was really struggling with Chapter 4 of Mel and Snake’s story, but I brought it to my local critique group, the Word Weavers, and they they gave me good suggestions for where to improve it. I have done the re-write, and I’m a lot happier now. So tonight I’m going to start Chapter 5 of Wolf’s Vengeance, and write the next installment of Sand’s story. Poor Sand. Last week I left him frantic to find his mate. I better go and set him off on his search. 🙂
